1. How does Global Words charge for simultaneous interpretation services?
Regardless of the type of interpretation (simultaneous or consecutive), the services are charged per work-day. The work-day of an interpreter is usually a six-hour period, after which there is a 25% surcharge per additional work hour. Respecting international labor conventions, interpretations services should always be performed by two interpreters for events lasting over one hour (in the case of simultaneous interpreting) or two hours (consecutive interpreting).
 
2. Which type of interpreting is ideally suited to my event: simultaneous or consecutive?
Simultaneous translation is recommended for large-scale conferences and events with large audiences, and for smaller events in which organizers do not want the speakers to be interrupted during his presentation (the interpreter renders the message in the listener’s language at the same time the speaker delivers his speech).

Global Words does not offer equipment or sound technicians. However, upon request, we will be glad to refer a few companies that offer simultaneous translation equipment and whose services we know and recommend.
 
4. How does Global Words charge for written translation services?
Global Words uses as reference the rates suggested by Sintra - Brazil' s Union for Translators and Interpreters. According to Sintra, written translations should be charged per word, with different rates for translations into Portuguese and versions into foreign languages.
